She's More Than Just a Fan

Thanks to my friend and photographer Jeff Blake for this photo from a recent Gamecocks men's basketball game. During a timeout, I asked Coach Staley what goes through her mind when she's watching a men's game.

She said "I'm just a fan today Travis. No stress. I just enjoy the action." No joke. 30 seconds later she was yelling at one of the USC players, saying "Protect your teammate. Protect your teammate!!!"

I guess it's just in her blood.

I've Been Everywhere, Man.......

My shoot locations in North Carolina and South Carolina over the last year.

The question "Where are you based?" is one that is being asked less and less by potential clients.

Laptops, the ability to transmit images directly from camera in seconds and lighter, more portable studio gear has changed the photography business for the better.

The Past Meets the Present

Good time making this bridal portrait image as the grip was my dad's, the body was Lavoy Bauknight's and the lens is mine. My dad and Lavoy both ran studios in my hometown, Lancaster, S.C.

Always fun getting out classic cameras for a bridal session. Image ©Travis Bell Photography

Vista Lights Bridal Show

Fun time photographing these girls Thursday night as part of Vista Lights in downtown Columbia. The show featured a Renaissance theme and was brilliant as always.

Fisheye High in The Sky

Saturday's assignment took me to Williams-Brice Stadium to photograph the Auburn game. This is my 21st season of photographing Gamecock football.

Part of the assignment was creating a panoramic from up high so I camped out on the camera deck. The lens used for this image captures a full 180 degrees, so even though you're looking straight at the 50-yard line, you can see the Columbia skyline to the far left!

Used the same lens for a self portrait afterwards.

Thanks for taking a look at the blog!
