No Sun But a Lot of Color - Clemson Tiger Paw on Bowman Field

On Sunday, I got up at 6:15am, knocked down 75mg of caffeine, then headed out to photograph the sun rising on Tillman Hall. It was all clouds, no sun, so I made this self portrait for the scrapbook.

I love this area on Bowman Field in front of Tillman.

In 1960, my father was standing near this spot when the strap on his snare drum snapped and he had to chase the rolling drum down the hill for over 100ft. He was playing in the Lancaster (SC) High School band during homecoming weekend at Clemson.

My dad was at Clemson 1960, I've been photographing Clemson football since I was a teenager and now my son, Hunter is a sophomore at Clemson.

Who's This Guy On The Field With Me?

What a fun day in Clemson as my son, Hunter, joined me for the first time on the sidelines for the Clemson-Virginia game on Oct. 19.

He did an amazing job!

His image of head coach Dabo Swinney running down the hill was used by The Post and Courier, which is a member of my wire service, Sideline Carolina.

The P&C used it in print, on their mobile app, website and on social media. Below is how it looked in print.

I started photographing college and pro football when I was 19 years old. This was definitely the best day ever on the field.

Leaving it Behind

My son, Hunter, zooms through the leaves and gravel as he rides a four wheeler today. Getting outside during Thanksgiving week is definitely a fall tradition for us. Here's wishing you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving! (Photo by Travis Bell)

Hunter's 12-Year-Old Portrait

A favorite from my son's 12-year-old portrait session in The Vista in Columbia. He is enjoying playing AAU basketball.

He is so good about these portrait sessions. Doesn't complain about having his picture taken at all. We've done one each year since he's been born.

Hard to believe but  my son, Hunter, turned 11 over the weekend. This slideshow is a celebration of his life and all our adventures together. Turn up your sound.

One Boy and The Force-Columbia SC Wedding Photographer

My son, Hunter, was ready to take on the world, slay dragons, you name it, during his six-year-old portrait session Friday night. Each year, when I create his portrait, I try to show something about what he likes. Needless to say, he is locked in to the Star Wars movies right now.

The lighting for this was so much fun. We also brought in a fog machine for effect. Thanks for taking a look. (Image, Copyright, 2011, Travis Bell)

Cynthia Pace

Thanks to Cynthia Pace Photography for some amazing images of me and my son. Cynthia is the most gifted children and family photographer I've ever seen. She can bring out the personality of a child as soon as they walk into the studio.

New Color Scheme for Kodak

During a father-son painting session over the weekend, my son, Hunter, decided that the metal and black leather finish on an old Kodak could use a paint scheme.

Riding High

My son, Hunter, the one wearing the Red Sox hat, takes advantage of the playground set at his grandmother's house.

With his strong desire to climb and his determination to jump off of nearly any elevated object, I'm not sure he's understanding how gravity impacts him yet.

Luckily, the swing keeps him seated while elevated!
