Grabbing One Out of The Sky

Saturday's assignment took me to Williams-Brice to photograph the Gamecocks vs Missouri.

A tough loss for South Carolina but one amazing catch by Pharoh Cooper. He pushed the ball against his helmet while absorbing a thunderous hit from a Missouri defender.

A Session with the Talent

A recent assignment took me to Charlotte to photograph ESPN talent Maria Taylor, Brent Musburger and Jesse Palmer for the new SEC Network.

We did the serious shots first but after that it got fun with shots like this one.

Columbia SC Photographer-Recalling a Favorite

I'm really excited about this weekend's wedding in Charlotte. I photographed the bride's sister's wedding as well.

At her sister's wedding, I captured a moment I'll never forget. During the reception, the father of the bride began watching a slideshow that was displaying images of his family from years ago. After a couple minutes of watching, he started shedding a few tears. Seconds later, the tears were streaming down his cheeks.

I had been waiting on this type of picture for years. Fathers will do everything they can to not cry. Many of them that do will turn away from a camera.

The best moment came when the bride leaned and smiled as her dad was crying.

These are the types of images I live for at weddings...the fleeting moments that you can't get back. The ones that bride's family talks about for years. Photographs of details and formals are important to a wedding book but they come in a distant second to moments like this.

Brides...here's one you can check off the list.

I've seen bridal portrait tips that suggested that brides have teeth whitening done before their bridal portrait. Is this something you may want to to before the wedding? 

Perhaps. But unless you've been drinking a gallon of sweet tea a day, there's no reason to have teeth whitening done before your bridal portrait session.

Why? We include teeth whitening retouching at no charge for any prints that you receive as part of your bridal portrait package or order in addition to your package. 

So, don't sweat it when it comes to whiter teeth. If needed, we'll take care of it in retouching.

Columbia SC Photographer-Winning University of South Carolina Basketball Image

Was thrilled to come away with a second-place finish in sports action from the South Carolina News Photographers Association's annual Pictures of the Year contest held this past weekend. 


The image shows Gamecock Ashley Bruner battling LSU for a rebound during an SEC matchup in Columbia. 

The Gamecocks are having an amazing season and will host Georgia tonight.
