Many thanks to Jeff Blake with the new Underexposed Podcast for having me on his show today!

I talk about behind-the-scenes moments with sports figures like Coach K, Dale Earnhardt Jr and Dawn Staley. I also take you behind the scenes of ESPN broadcasts. 

If you're a sports fan, a photographer or both, you'll enjoy it. 

He also asked me to share some of my favorite images over the years. For photographers, I share multiple techniques about how photographs were created for college and pro sports.

Shaq Vs Earnhardt Jr.

It was a thrill to serve as the official still photographer for a recent taping of "Shaq Vs." in Charlotte. The episode aired Tuesday night on ABC and was a hit with O'Neal and Earnhardt fans. They are such fun guys to photograph.

Here, Shaq lifts up Jr. after the NASAR driver won the competition. I'm still amazed at how O'Neal was able to fit into his car. If you look near the middle of the image, you'll see the custom door that was built so he could get in from the top. Thanks to the folks at ABC for the assignment.

Dale Earnhardt Jr and Make-A-Wish

Thursday's assignment for ESPN took me to Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s residence outside Moorseville, N.C. Earnhardt treated Jeffrey, a teenager from Maine, to go-kart racing, a tour of his property and a visit to the JR Motorsports garage. Jeffrey's wish was to meet Earnhardt through the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
